About Me

I became fascinated with glass (some would say obsessed) nine years ago when I took my first three-hour class with my friend, Jackie Marr. I came home, set up my hot head at the kitchen table, made really ugly beads until 3A.M., and never looked back. I have been fortunate to study since then with some of the great beadmakers of the American art glass movement.

What I love about my work is that I can incorporate the transformative and evocative power of glass into everyday objects. The dailiness of our lives is illuminated by these small reminders of beauty, which await our chance notice next to our skin or among our possessions. I delight in knowing that my glass creations have travelled around the world, and may someday be, if not archeological artifacts, at least valued heirlooms.

I have, as many artist do, a "day job." I am fortunate, as many artists are not, to love it. I work as an emergency room doctor in a small nearby hospital, with great coworkers who encouraged me early on by buying my stuff!
