IPC Free Lanuguages Disc GVG - 30 April 1985 This disc contains two small-but-useful languages for the Integral PC: XLISP and PILOT. Each is contained in its own folder: "lisp_files" and "pilot_files". XLISP is a small version of LISP, written by David Betz as an amusement; it's a fairly well-made product for a freebie, useful for learning elementary symbolic and object-oriented programming. Among its many distinctions, XLISP supports object-oriented programming constructs, and provides direct access to "C" function calls. It also provides a baby PROLOG interpreter, written on top of XLISP. An excellent reference manual will be found in the file "xlisp.doc". Source code is included with XLISP, in the "xlisp_files/source_files" directory. It's all written in C; it can be recompiled for almost any personal computer that supports C. For pointers on recompiling the interpreter, see "xlisp_files/source_files/xlisp.h". XLISP takes up about 128K of memory on the IPC. HP-CWO provides this program to customers on request; we don't make a profit on it. We also don't support it. Any problems with the interpreter should be referred to Mr. Betz. PILOT is a language used for creating computer-aided instruction programs. A manual is included in the "pilot_files" directory; if you are interested in looking at some sample PILOT programs, please look at the IPC's "Tutor" disk, which is written in PILOT. Again, this is not an HP-supported product.
