UNAME(1) HP-UX 5.0 UNAME(1) NAME uname - print name of current HP-UX version SYNOPSIS uname [ -snrvmia ] HP-UX COMPATIBILITY Level: HP-UX/NUCLEUS Origin: System V DESCRIPTION Uname prints the current system name of the HP-UX system on the standard output file. It is mainly useful to determine which system one is using. The options cause selected information returned by uname(2) to be printed: -s print the system name (default). -n print the nodename (the nodename may be a name that the system is known by on a communications network). (e.g. uucp). -r print the operating system release. -v print the operating system version. -m print the machine hardware name. -i print the machine identification number. -a print all the above information.
