     NAME
          load_serial - load the RS-232 interface driver

     SYNOPSIS
          load_serial

     DESCRIPTION
          load_serial allows the user to load the driver module used
          for controlling the RS-232 interface card.  This action
          needs to be taken only if you plan to use one of the plug-in
          RS-232 cards.  Once loaded, the driver will remain a part of
          the operating system until the next time your system is
          powered down;  at this point, you will then need to reload
          the driver the next time you power up your system.

     DIAGNOSTICS
          An error will occur if the driver module (serial.data)
          cannot be found, or if there is not enough memory to load
          the driver, or if the version of the operating system is not
          compatible with the driver.
