Burmese Style Rice

Ingredients
- 6 C uncooked rice
- 9 medium onions, sliced
- 3 tbsp Turmeric
- 1 C olive oil
- 4 Qt water
- 3 tbsp salt
Directions
- Sprinkle onions with turmeric and saute in oil until brown but not burned.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Add rice to pan and stir to mix with remaining oil. Allow to brown slightly.
- Add water and salt and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes
- Serve rice topped with onion slices.
